Description:
Folding fan with double paper pleated leaf. The leaf design features a painted and gilded landscape with large red flowers (poinsettias?) accented with fine glitter, and a silver and gold painted band along the outer edge. Note the unusual shape of the leaf — narrower in the middle, and wider toward the guards. Machine made sticks and guards are varnished deep red, with overpainted floral designs. Upper parts of the sticks have silver stamped decoration. Leaf reverse is decorated with a hand drawn gold ink floral design. Metal loop at rivet.
