Description:
Folding fan with double fabric pleated leaf. Black silk leaf front has a hand painted scene of a woman standing on a balcony, holding a hand fan, overlooking a street scene below. Leaf reverse is black silk fabric. Sticks and guards are pierced and incised wood; guards are carved in a scallop shape at the head (rivet) end. The rivet holds a decorative metal washer and a plain metal loop.
